Reviews of Brookdale Hartwell are overwhelmingly positive, particularly regarding its caring staff, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere. Families frequently describe employees as friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and willing to provide individualized support. Several reviewers appreciated the smaller community, favorable staff-to-resident ratio, and family-like environment. Many felt reassured that their loved ones were safe, comfortable, and receiving meaningful personal attention. The facility is generally described as clean, organized, cheerful, and well maintained, although some noted that it is an older building undergoing renovations. Rooms are considered adequate, accessible, and sanitary, though several reviewers found them smaller than preferred. Common areas, dining spaces, libraries, and gathering rooms support socialization. Residents reportedly participate in bingo, exercise, music, television, cards, and other activities. Families often observed residents appearing happy and engaged. Transportation and secure memory-care services were also viewed positively. Dining experiences were mostly favorable, with comments praising meal quality and temperature. One concern was that the dining room could feel cold. The community was repeatedly recommended for individuals with dementia, especially because of its secure setting and inclusive activities. The primary criticisms involved medical and nursing services. Some families reported insufficient urgency, medication-administration errors, pharmacy delays, and a need for stronger nursing oversight and more medical attendants. One reviewer felt the community was less suitable for a highly independent resident seeking peers with similar cognitive abilities. Cost was another concern, with some describing the facility as expensive, despite believing the care was worthwhile. Overall, Brookdale Hartwell is viewed as a compassionate, clean, and supportive community with strong activities and staff, though improvements in medical coordination, nursing responsiveness, room size, and affordability would enhance the experience.

The place stinks, they never call when your family members go to the hospital And most of the nurses don't pay attention to the residents living there.
