CareScout Community Score

Based on CareScout’s proprietary scoring.

The CareScout Community Score is calculated using our proprietary rating system, created to help families make well-informed choices about senior living options. This score is determined using a comprehensive set of criteria, including sentiment analysis of online ratings and reviews, user-submitted feedback on CareScout.com, completeness of the community profile, input from employees and local advisors, a community's contracted status with CareScout, and the frequency of visits to the community's website and location. Communities can earn a maximum score of 10.

indicates a community has a contract with CareScout, meaning we receive a fee from the community or an advisor, after a family has moved in. Contracted communities receive additional points toward their Community Score; however, it's possible for a community to earn a score of 10 even if they are not contracted with CareScout.

What families are saying

We’ve gathered and summarized real family reviews from across the internet for you. Contact a CareScout representative for details.

The Grand Senior Living facility receives mixed reviews from residents and their families. Many praise its beautiful, well-appointed environment, friendly and caring staff, and a wide range of amenities, including a heated pool, art studio, and upscale salon. The location is also highlighted as convenient and desirable, with nearby services and attractions. Jon, a staff member, is frequently mentioned for his helpfulness and ability to ease the transition for new residents. However, there are significant concerns about the quality of services provided. The dining experience is a common complaint, with reports of subpar food, frequent chef changes, and meal delivery issues. Housekeeping and maintenance services are also criticized for being inconsistent and unprofessional. Some residents express frustration with management's lack of responsiveness to complaints and the high staff turnover, which affects the quality of care, particularly in medication administration. Despite these issues, some residents and their families remain satisfied, appreciating the community's efforts to keep residents engaged and safe, especially during challenging times. The facility's activities director and certain staff members receive commendations for their dedication and attentiveness. Overall, while The Grand offers a visually appealing and well-equipped environment, there are notable concerns about service quality and management responsiveness that potential residents should consider.

April 2026

My mother has been in The Grand's assisted living facility for over a year. During this time, the caregiver staff has overturned frequently. There's seems to be no consistency in relaying information from weekday staff to weekend staff. Even after several attempts via email to management staff and talking directly with on site staff, needs are not being met. Simple things like helping her put hearing aids in charger at night, turning on lights in the morning and help with showering. The food was not bad at first, but after losing their chef and not hiring another for almost 8 months, the food got really bad, mostly fried. Certainly not healthy. They now finally hired a chef and the food is a little better, but still not appetizing. Maintenance is not very good. The water in the entire building was off for almost a whole day, then the gas was off for two days - no hot water and no cooking in the kitchen. For what we pay there - I expected a lot more attention.
