March 2026

I Sadly had to live there for 18 months through no fault of my own. My first step on the property was already a nightmare beginning with who I later found out he was the fiance of the owner. She turned out to be a 1000 times worse. The place wasn't even worthy of a dead animal let alone a helpless, very ill disabled United States of America Veteran. It was infested with Roaches, bedbugs and rodents. The "ONLY " time we at well was when received donations from the outside. The food was always unacceptable for humans. One time they tried to pass off a soy loaf as a meatloaf. It crumbled into miniature rabbit turds as soon as your fork touched it.For the most part, the med room was staffed by teenagers with no medical background whatsoever. They were even made to guess and adjust the insulin levels of the diabetic patients. I do have a medical background and was appalled by this. They are robbing the Federal government blind, and stealing the rent rebate checks from all of the veterans.

About Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community On March 19, 1962 the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius, in keeping with their mission to “reach out in compassion to care for the elderly, the young, the poor, the sick, the lonely, wounded families and immigrants," first welcomed guests to Maria Joseph Manor in Danville, PA. This 100-bed facility opened on the Feast of Saint Joseph. The manor became the new home for some of the residents who had lived with the Sisters at Saint Ann's in Middletown, PA. It was near Jednota Orphanage where the Sisters served. Our Mission Statement Hospitality Service Love Respect Compassionate care After its inception, more than 50 years ago, Maria Joseph Manor became a caring and welcoming home for all residents with help from the Sisters and staff. People began to refer to Maria Joseph Manor as "The Home With a Heart," and applications for admission arrived from Pennsylvania and other states where the Sisters taught or ministered. Soon, the manor filled to capacity and applicants had to be turned away. The Sisters recognized the needs of the growing aged population and renovated Maria Joseph Manor. The manor became a personal care facility, and other facilities were built on the campus. Rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition of hospitality and service and dedicated to a mission of love and respect for each individual, the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius and the staff of Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community offer a welcoming and secure environment. Here, the lives of senior adults and their families are enhanced with compassionate and professional care…
