Our rich history began in the early 1800s when a surveyor, John Gabriel Guignard, was hired to survey the newly established capital city of Columbia. He built a plantation here and named it Still Hopes. In 1910, Gabriel Alexander Guignard, his son, erected the Victorian mansion that now remains as the focal point of our beautiful community.
