CareScout Community Score

Based on CareScout’s proprietary scoring.

The CareScout Community Score is calculated using our proprietary rating system, created to help families make well-informed choices about senior living options. This score is determined using a comprehensive set of criteria, including sentiment analysis of online ratings and reviews, user-submitted feedback on CareScout.com, completeness of the community profile, input from employees and local advisors, a community's contracted status with CareScout, and the frequency of visits to the community's website and location. Communities can earn a maximum score of 10.

indicates a community has a contract with CareScout, meaning we receive a fee from the community or an advisor, after a family has moved in. Contracted communities receive additional points toward their Community Score; however, it's possible for a community to earn a score of 10 even if they are not contracted with CareScout.

What families are saying

We’ve gathered and summarized real family reviews from across the internet for you. Contact a CareScout representative for details.

Cedar Woods Independent Living receives mixed reviews from residents and visitors. Many praise the community for its friendly and attentive staff, clean environment, and engaging activities. Residents appreciate the sense of community, with some describing it as feeling like a family. The facility is noted for its well-maintained apartments and inviting common areas. Several reviews highlight the positive impact of staff members like Elizabeth, Sasha, and Brianna, who go above and beyond to ensure residents' comfort and satisfaction. However, there are significant concerns about leadership and management. Some reviews criticize the general manager for lacking professionalism and empathy, being rarely present, and not addressing residents' concerns adequately. Issues with food quality are also mentioned, with complaints about processed meals and a decline in dining standards under new management. Security concerns are raised due to past theft incidents and the absence of cameras on the property. Despite these issues, many residents express overall satisfaction with their living experience, citing the community's vibrant atmosphere and the staff's dedication to residents' well-being. The facility's location, amenities, and activities are generally well-received, contributing to a positive living environment for many. However, the mixed feedback suggests that while Cedar Woods has strengths, there are areas needing improvement, particularly in management and security.

I recently toured Cedar Woods and when I walked in and throughout my tour, staff were pleasant and engaging. Residents also were actively participating in recreation programs. One resident wanted to show me her apartment and talked to me about how nice the staff were and how they keep the apartments and entire community clean and well kept. I happen to be touring during the lunch time. The aroma of the food was appetizing and the food looked delicious. Residents were engaging at their tables and told me how good the food was. I was toured by the General Manager, Danielle. She was knowledgeable and professional. You could tell by her interactions with the residents that they respect and appreciate her. I would recommend Cedar Woods to anyone looking for a compassionate environment and a quality life style for their loved one.
