What families are saying

We’ve gathered and summarized real family reviews from across the internet for you. Contact a CareScout representative for details.

The Pisgah Valley Retirement Community has received mixed reviews. Some residents and their friends have expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of food provided, particularly in the Pisgah Villas and Pisgah Manor. Complaints include the prevalence of processed foods, such as hot dogs and chips, which some residents find inedible, leading them to rely on nutritional supplements like Boost. Concerns have also been raised about the care in Pisgah Manor, with reports of delayed assistance and an incident of verified CNA abuse. These issues have led some to reconsider recommending the facility, despite its previous good reputation under different ownership. Conversely, others have had positive experiences at Pisgah Valley. One individual praised the excellent care their family member received, highlighting the thoroughness and comfort provided by the nurses and CNAs. Another person, who has chosen Pisgah Valley for themselves, appreciated the small, rural community setting, the absence of a mandatory food plan, and the variety of activities and amenities available. They noted the appealing independent living options, including spacious villas with modern facilities, and the vibrant community life with regular events and a wellness center featuring a heated pool and exercise equipment. The staff were described as energetic and engaged, contributing to a well-maintained and attractive living environment. Overall, while some have concerns about specific aspects of care and dining, others find the community's location, amenities, and staff to be significant positives.
