The reviews for Wellington at Hershey's Mill present a mixed picture of the senior living community. Many reviewers praise the facility for its beautiful, well-maintained environment, spacious apartments, and a wide range of activities. The staff is frequently described as friendly, caring, and attentive, with specific mentions of individuals like Ian, Derrick, and Kevin for their exceptional service. The community is noted for its vibrant atmosphere, with numerous positive comments about the dining experience and the variety of amenities offered, including an indoor pool and parking garage. However, there are significant criticisms as well. Some reviewers express dissatisfaction with recent management changes, citing issues like increased costs, reduced service quality, and poor food options. Complaints about understaffing, particularly in the dining area, and unmet promises regarding apartment cleaning and maintenance are common. Concerns about management's responsiveness to resident feedback and allegations of discrimination and poor treatment of employees, especially women and minorities, are also highlighted. Overall, while many residents and their families appreciate the community's offerings and the staff's dedication, there are notable concerns about management practices and service consistency that potential residents should consider.

December 2025

I agree with the comments about poor food quality, long wait for food, poor quality housekeeping /laundry service for personal care. High turnover with the aids who give mediocre care. The aids just seem to clock in and clock out. Very little compassion by the caretakers. Very slow response time to personal care call buttons (10-30 min). Management listens, make immediate improvements but then staff reverts to poor care again.

November 2025

The Wellington needs to do better. Their sales pitch sounds wonderful and promises the world, but don't produce. They had a flood in the main eating and sitting area back in the summer. The renovations still have not been completed. The food has definitely declined. Management is a joke. Their response to everything is "They are Independent." This little phrase allows them to ignore any and all responsibilities. The apartments are NOT renovated. Their idea of reno -- spot paint, refurbished appliances (if you are lucky) and carpet only. Your monthly rent is required to include their cleaning staff. Don't even waste your time -- they don't vacuum or clean. The activities are non-existent. They will list a bunch, but all they are doing is putting a DVD in. The trips are pointless too. They care more about corporate then residents.

July 2024

I am so impressed by the new renovations at Wellington. It is such a vibrant and active community with tons of activities throughout the day. There’s a lovely courtyard with beautiful gardens, and an indoor swimming pool! I love that there is entertainment every Thursday night after dinner and bingo every Friday night! The food is delicious, and it is always nice to see the Dining Team and the Executive Director engaging with the residents during dinner. I highly recommend Wellington!
