The building feels dated. We had a good tour though. We had some pretty great cookies actually.

Brookdale Chatsworth receives mixed reviews from residents and their families. Many appreciate the friendly and caring staff, who are often described as attentive and dedicated. The facility is praised for its welcoming atmosphere, cleanliness, and variety of activities, which include arts and crafts, outings, and social events. Residents often mention the spacious rooms and home-like environment, with some highlighting the accommodating nature of the staff towards personal needs and preferences. However, there are notable concerns, particularly regarding the quality and consistency of the food, which some find inedible or disappointing. The dining service is often criticized for long wait times and occasional shortages. Management and administrative issues are also highlighted, with some reviewers mentioning frequent changes in leadership and a decline in care quality over time. There are reports of insufficient staffing, leading to delayed responses to requests for assistance and inadequate attention to residents' needs, especially for those requiring more intensive care. Some families have experienced billing disputes and felt that the facility was not equipped to handle more complex medical needs, leading them to seek alternative care options. Despite these challenges, many residents express satisfaction with their living experience, enjoying the social opportunities and the sense of community. Overall, while Brookdale Chatsworth is seen as a suitable option for independent seniors, those with higher care needs may need to consider other facilities.

I recently placed my older sibling at Brookdale Chatsworth. The facility is very clean, and the staff are very trained and professional. The food is excellent, they have a Signature Seasoning program, that gives you control of the level of flavor added to your food without the addition of sodium. There are plenty of activities to choose from like lumbering, painting yoga and taichi classes, cooking workshops, and more!! Overall, I'm very pleased with our decision to have my sister live at Brookdale Chatsworth!
