My parents picked this community for its spacious apartments. They are independent right now but the community lets you age in place as your care needs increase which was different form the other communities we visited.

What families are saying
We’ve gathered and summarized real family reviews from across the internet for you. Contact a CareScout representative for details.
The reviews present a strongly mixed but generally favorable picture of The Magnolia at Oxford Commons, with several comments also referring to The Blake. Families frequently praise the attractive, spacious, clean community, comfortable apartments, good food, and welcoming atmosphere. Staff and leadership are often described as caring, friendly, responsive, and genuinely invested in residents. Reviewers highlight personalized move-in support, communication about health changes, transportation to appointments, onsite physical, occupational, and speech therapy, salon services, massage, manicures, and diverse activities. Residents reportedly form friendships, enjoy meals, participate in exercise, outings, crafts, music, and entertainment, while families gain peace of mind. Several reviewers particularly commend staff and activity coordinators for knowing residents personally and supporting both independent residents and those with Parkinson’s, dementia, or mobility limitations. Price is characterized as reasonable, and availability and occasional specials influenced some choices. However, negative experiences raise serious concerns. Complaints include inadequate staffing, inconsistent attention to bathing, broken doors, poor air-conditioning, cold or mismatched food, and medication delays or mismanagement. Some families report weak cleanliness, limited nighttime care, insufficient memory-care support, absent care plans, and activities consisting mainly of television. A few describe rude front-desk interactions, unfulfilled promises, or relocating loved ones because of safety and medical concerns. Others call the facility merely average despite its appearance. Overall, the reviews suggest a beautiful community with many compassionate employees and strong amenities, but care quality may vary by department, shift, and resident needs. Prospective families should verify staffing, medication management, memory-care procedures, maintenance, and pricing.

I recently visited a fantastic place with my mother and sister, and was impressed by the attentive staff and lovely Spanish architecture. The amenities were great, with lots of social activities for residents, yummy food, private rooms, and on-site healthcare services. It felt like a beautiful hotel from the early 20th century combined with modern conveniences. I would definitely recommend it to others looking for excellent service and quality accommodation.

I absolutely love it here! The people who work here are friendly and accommodating, the food at the Calypso restaurant is very good, and there is almost at least one thing every day that is on the activities calendar that I am interested in. Plus the grounds are so beautiful - there is even a pool! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable retirement experience.
