The care staff is great. Administrative staff, with one exception, leaves a lot to be desired. Non responsive to requests for time and attention.

The reviews of Brookdale Durant are overwhelmingly positive, highlighting a warm, welcoming, and home-like environment. Families and visitors consistently praise the cleanliness, comfort, safety, and attractive facilities, including the courtyard and ongoing upgrades. Staff members are described as friendly, professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and compassionate, even when caring for challenging residents. Many reviewers appreciate the engaging activities, family-friendly atmosphere, pandemic precautions, and willingness to accommodate residents’ individual needs. Families report that communication is strong, with staff and leadership responding promptly to questions, concerns, and updates. Several relatives say the quality of care has reduced their stress and provided peace of mind, particularly because they feel their loved ones are genuinely valued and well cared for. Food is viewed favorably, with alternative choices available, and residents are encouraged to participate in activities and social life. Tours—both in-person and virtual—were generally informative and pleasant, with the community considered a leading choice by some families. A few criticisms are also noted. One reviewer felt the community was not the right fit, while another considered it only “okay.” Cost was described as less budget-friendly than desired. Turnover among staff was mentioned as a concern, despite generally positive impressions of employees. Some comments come from visitors or prospective families rather than current residents, so experiences vary. Overall, Brookdale Durant is portrayed as a clean, caring, and well-managed senior living community offering strong support, responsive leadership, and meaningful activities, with affordability and staffing stability as the primary areas for improvement for families considering placement.

While the individual care providers are, for the most part, very kind and helpful, the Administrative Staff, with one exception, leaves much to be desired. I have made numerous requests to meet with members of the Administrative Staff, with NO response.
