My experience with VikMed changed dramatically after the change in ownership. My mother was in hospice care, and I needed honesty, transparency and confidence that her care was being handled appropriately. My biggest concern was not simply poor communication. I was given information that I later discovered was false. When I found the correct information and presented it to them, they still insisted I was wrong and pressured me to do what they wanted. I felt bullied into complying rather than being listened to as my mother’s advocate. It appeared they were trying to protect themselves from accountability for their own failures. This was especially troubling because my mother was vulnerable and dependent on others to advocate for her. I ultimately lost confidence that I was being given accurate information or that her best interests were the priority.
