"This place is OK for seniors that are able to be more independent. For those that require more supervision or care, I would have to say there is insufficient staffing. It’s really hard to manage seniors who require more assistance at this facility due to the minimal staffing they have. Their objective is to get everybody into the same room, kind of like a classroom so that they don’t have as many staff members to supervise the residence. They tell you what you wanna hear but then come up short with regards to providing the care and supervision required. What I learned most is that the caregivers are not allowed to call 911 in an emergency. In fact they have to call a med tech from another building. They have to come over and do an assessment of the patient before anyone can call 911 when I learned this, I realize this was not the best for us." - Morgan… Read more

"Carmel Village is an acceptable place for seniors who are still fairly independent and only need minimal assistance, meals, & basic housekeeping. However, once a resident requires a higher level of care, they cannot provide it. My mom lived here for two years. During the last four months of her life, as her care needs increased, the quality of care declined significantly. While Carmel Village charged additional fees for every added service—which we understood/ expected—the care that was promised was not the care that was provided. She came home from the hospital 2 months before she passed and Carmel said they could still handle her needs on Hospice along with the outside agency. They messed up so many things! As her health declined and she needed more help, the cost went up but the help did not. She had all her witts about her but they treated her as if she did not! "I have been working at The Commons for some time now. This is a wonderful place for assisted living. The facility is clean, modern, and the staff is friendly, caring and always responsive to the needs of the residents. They do an excellent job managing during Covid and keeping families informed. "I have been a resident at Drake Terrace for several years now and I love living here. The management team is wonderful to work with and they all seem to have been here for a long time, which says a lot in this industry. We have made many new friends and feel very much a part of this community because of the fantastic activities director who works so hard to give us something fun to look forward to every day. My only complaint is that the food could be better, but given that they are serving so many people at once, it's a minor concern. "As a former employee of this company I can tell you not to place any family member in their care and not to work there. For residents, they have the state minimum staff on shift at any given time which is 1 person to 100 residents. If you're lucky there's 2 people to care for the residents. If there is an emergency with one resident there's no one else to handle any other needs or other emergency happening in the facility. They do not care about the health and wellness of their residents. The management does not strive for the best care, they strive to increase the bottom line. Staff is not trained properly. The turnover rate of staff is shockingly high due to poor management and minimum pay. No medical professionals on staff or in the building. "My mother lived in both the independent living and memory care areas of Healdsburg Senior Living. She absolutely loved her bright and clean apartment in independent living and it was roomier than other facilities we had visited and more affordable. When she moved over to memory care she was able to have a single room and, although much smaller, the staff helped us recreate a mini version of her independent apartment so the transition was easier and her walls were filled with family photographs and the paintings she loved. The culture of bringing the community together through their fundraising events, the beautiful garden and the animals all helped her thrive while she was there. Visiting and feeding the goats and chickens reminded her of a time she loved visiting her grandparents farm growing up. And the Comm-University program, where she could share her knowledge of music and learn from the kids she was partnered with, gave her a renewed sense of purpose. The nurses and staff in both independent living and memory care were exceptionally kind, patient, caring and her interactions with them all were heartfelt. I can't say enough good things about Healdsburg Senior Living..
