What families are saying

We’ve gathered and summarized real family reviews from across the internet for you. Contact a CareScout representative for details.

Benchmark Senior Living at Ridgefield Crossings receives mixed reviews from residents and their families. Many praise the facility for its warm, caring, and professional staff, who are noted for their compassion and dedication. The transition to assisted living is often described as smooth, with staff members like Sara Bilik and others going above and beyond to make residents feel at home. The facility offers a variety of activities, including music, crafts, and outings, which many residents enjoy. The environment is described as clean and inviting, with well-maintained amenities and a supportive community atmosphere. However, some reviews highlight concerns about management and rising costs. Several families express frustration over significant annual price increases, which they feel are not justified by the level of care provided. Communication issues with management are also noted, with some families reporting unreturned calls and a lack of responsiveness to concerns. The quality of food receives mixed feedback, with some residents enjoying the meals while others find them lacking. Additionally, there are occasional complaints about understaffing and the absence of a nurse on duty at night, particularly in the memory care unit. Overall, while many families are satisfied with the care and environment at Ridgefield Crossings, concerns about cost, management, and specific aspects of care suggest areas for improvement. Despite these issues, the facility is generally recommended for its supportive staff and engaging community activities.

Pete

January 2025

My mother has been a resident here for the past two years. If I stack the cost against all of it, the care is decent, the place itself is also decent. However, be aware the costs they charge to be here go up every year, and not by a little. This January 2025 they raised the combined cost of her place and care by 10% from last year (with no change in level of care). While I understand costs are rising everywhere a 10% increase year over year is an exorbitant amount. This is well beyond any typical increase that follows the inflation rate, etc. The company has their pre-written explanations for the increases but I don't buy it. This feels like the rest of our healthcare system. Pass the cost onto the consumer while they make their high profits. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone doing their research on an assisted living facility. I contacted them regarding this and was referred to their director. I left her a message and heard nothing back.
