"Fairly good in some respects, food good (high fats), facility clean and colorful, except for stains on dining room chairs. Aides noisy, shout and laugh, startles residents; sound is distorted for them! MUSIC TOO LOUD. Activities geared to mild to moderate, not those with advanced dementia, like my parent. FEES VERY HIGH, increased twice in 9 months. Executive Director Sheryl rude and dismissive on phone; warmer in person. Senior Staff give consistent impression we shouldn't call, and it bothers them when we call to ask how parent is doing. Nurse on duty did not return my two calls. I've been nervous to ever call again. They don't respect long-distant relatives & difficulties we face in terms of knowing how our relative is. They refuse to answer questions to more than one family member; but when that person is very old, the offspring of the resident are shut out of frequent communication. She was instrumental in getting the paperwork completed with a facility in Georgia that was in no hurry to release him. The entire West Palm Beach staff made him feel at home immediately. In his mind he was not ready to retire. Nicole in activities gave him a badge and put him to work on the greeting committee. He found a purpose in helping others at the facility.
