Then, without running a single test, they suddenly diagnosed him with vascular dementia. The psychiatrist admitted to me directly that she made that call just by reviewing his past medical history. No cognitive tests. No scans. Nothing. And then, the attending physician made it worse—he put in writing that my husband had both vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. Again, no tests at all.
