What families are saying

We’ve gathered and summarized real family reviews from across the internet for you. Contact a CareScout representative for details.

The reviews for Gardens of Gainesville present a mixed picture. Many reviewers praise the facility for its warm atmosphere, caring staff, and variety of amenities. The facility is described as having a nice southern charm, with a range of floor plans and a lively community offering fun activities and good food. Specific staff members, like Jamie L., Chris, Alex, and Zeke, are highlighted for their exceptional care and support. Some residents and their families appreciate the welcoming environment and the opportunity for family involvement, with no strict visiting hours. However, there are significant concerns about the quality of care, particularly in the memory care unit. Issues such as inconsistent care, medication errors, and lack of communication with families are frequently mentioned. Some reviewers report neglect, such as residents being left in soiled clothing or not receiving regular baths. Maintenance and cleanliness are also areas of concern, with reports of cockroach infestations and delayed repairs. The facility's management and communication are criticized, with some reviewers noting a lack of responsiveness and transparency. The recent change in ownership and subsequent rent increase without addressing existing issues have also been points of contention. Despite these challenges, some families remain satisfied due to the facility's proximity to their homes and the overall positive experience of their loved ones. Overall, while Gardens of Gainesville has its strengths, there are notable areas for improvement, particularly in care consistency and facility management.

High turnover and bad management. Low quality food and small portions. No telephone or no answer consistently for family to call at night and check on loved ones, especially in assisted living section.Low pay and low incentive for caregivers which keeps good caregivers from staying employed there. Night shift is almost non existent in entire facility.

If I could give the management of this facility no stars, I would!

I recently had a tour at Gardens of Gainesville while looking for assisted living communities and I think I found a good option. The staff seemed incredibly caring, the food was delicious, and the list and schedule of activities looked great. I participated in their Virtual Dementia Tour which was a great educational experience. I like that not only do they provide excellent care for their residents, but they also offer support and education to families as well.
