"My Nanny lived in this community, during the final stage of her life. As her health declined, after a broken hip, and repeated falls. Our families raised concerns and requested Hospice care. The director, Susanne, strongly encouraged PT and OT instead, despite continued decline and lack of improvement. Hospice involvement was delayed, and during that time my Grandmother suffered significantly. After she sustained a serious injury, we were told from Susanne, she was no longer able to return. Although the contract stated the facility would assist with referrals to alternative placement, no such assistance was offered Assisted living is private pay, and I understand facilities have limits. However, families should be aware of how end-of-life decisions, safety concerns, and transitions are handled here.
