"I have no idea how this residential living facility was given a 9.8!!! The food is horrible and sometimes they don't even have simple items like butter, milk, and coffee. The rooms are hot all year round and not balanced at all. The front gate has been broken over a year and stays open all the time giving them no security from the community." - Stephanie…

"Belmont Village Memphis is pretty great, I'd give it a solid four stars. The staff are caring and professional, and they really know their stuff. The community's got lots to offer – a theater, hobby rooms, even a gardening club. Dining's flexible and therapy's available in-house. Rooms are clean but some say the studio ones are too small. Still, there's plenty of activities to keep you busy and the food's good." - Grace…

"It has taken months for me to be able to talk about our experience with Harbor Chase memory care. 1,because it was such a traumatic experience, & 2, I’ve just been too busy trying to make sure my mother has 24hr assistance at home. Here is my personal experience. Yes, they are amazingly friendly and helpful, until you are a resident. Trying to get someone on phone to get update on mom was next to impossible, even after meeting with director to voice my concerns, & multiple texts & phone calls explaining my frustration. Things missing from her room within days of arrival- iPad, new make up still in box, birdhouse that was handmade by her stepson, &her wedding ring. Anytime she got aggressive we’d get a phone call-either we come up there & deal with her or they’d send her to psych facility. And last, but by far the most concerning- my stepfather took her home on a Monday evening. When I went to get her clothes Tues after 9am, an aide told me she was still in bed. Hadn’t checked on her." - Lisa…

"My Dad has been at Dogwood Creek for just over a year now (just got the memory on my Facebook page!). It's been a really good experience for him - overall he seems more social and more engaged when we come to visit. He has friends, he participates in (some) of the planned activites, and they have a really nice courtyard where he reads when it's not too hot out. Of course the move was not without drama (giving up his woodshop at home was the biggest obstacle to moving but he has taken up gardening a bit more), and there are little things here and there (staff turnover, but that seems to be a problem everywhere these days). Overall, we are super happy to have him in such good care and part of such a nice community. Many thanks to the Dogwood Creek team." - Stephen…

"My wife was a resident there for 3 weeks. Pros: The food is VERY good. The cleaning staff is very good. Cons: The staff with one exception doesn't seem to care a bit. One night on 2nd shift there was no nurse on duty so no one on the unit could get medications. The nurse call light is ignored for 30 minutes or more and then they come in and say, "I'll be right back", and never return. My wife's phone was reported lost and no one ever followed up. I would not recommend this place to anyone." - David…

The figures below show the average monthly starting costs for assisted living of nearby cities. Keep in mind that these figures are an average, and that the numbers used to calculate it spanned a wide range. In fact, CareScout data suggests that most families will underestimate their monthly budget by almost 20%, meaning that once inclusions and services are factored in, they can actually afford more than they originally thought.
