"The facility sits on Holman Road, which is very busy. There is virtually no outside space for residents to congregate other than a roof terrace. Inside there is a spacious common space but it is in a basement. The costs per month quoted here are the base. Once the resident is anchored at Aegis, the corporation does its best to increase monthly fees. The contract gives Aegis the power to increase the monthly fees by its decision that the resident needs more services. My relative who lives there has had her monthly fee increase by 70% over the last 3 years. It comes very close if not over the line of financially taking advantage of vulnerable adults.
