Rosewood Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

146 Marple Road, Broomall, PA, 19008
Assisted Living, Memory Care, Independent Living, Nursing Home, Continuing Care Retirement Community

"My mother was transferred from the hospital to Rosewood Gardens for a short term rehab stay late this summer. She stayed on the basement level. Although the first floor of the facility appeared well kept the basement level did not appear clean, with visible dirt in the elevator, hallways and common areas. My mother was placed in a room that smelled so strongly of urine that I had to complain to have the room re-cleaned. Housekeeping did clean it again but we could not even open the windows to get the strong chemical smell out of the room. The only chair for visitors in the room was visibly dirty. There were no gloves in the bathroom in her room either. The nursing/aide staff was not responsive or attentive. My mom was left in the bathroom for extended periods of time with her call light on and no response on more than one occasion. When my sister expressed concern about this, the aides were rude and dismissive. My sister would come in to find the call bell and telephone across the room" - Mary…

Cross Keys Village - the Brethren Home

8.9
2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA, 17350
Assisted Living, Memory Care, Independent Living, Nursing Home, Continuing Care Retirement Community

About Us Well-established senior living communities such as Cross Keys Village have individual personalities… just like cities. Think of Boston, Denver and Seattle. All three offer basically the same features: streets, shops, services and businesses for 630,000 people. However, no one would argue that those three cities are identical. The same goes for Continuing Care Retirement Communities. All will offer you the same basic panoply of services: Residential Living, a Personal Care (called Assisted Living in most states), a Nursing Care Center (short-term for rehab, or long-term), and preferably some memory support programs. Most will offer some promises of care to their residents whose physical or financial situation takes a turn for the worse. As you can read in our services section, Cross Keys Village actually offers more extensive services and more comprehensive options than most. In this section, we will tell you more about the unique personality of Cross Keys Village. This personality is based not only on bricks-and-mortar features, but also on people and on a long tradition. Cross Keys Village is one of the largest stand-alone non-profit CCRCs in the country. When a decision needs to be made quickly, we do not waste time consulting some corporate office in another state; we do not need to worry about some unexpected difficulty at a sister community. Our focus is one single campus and our beloved residents. Our setting is tranquil and safe… even rural (we are literally bordered by corn fields). However, providence has located us at the center of an active and prosperous area. We are just a stone’s throw north of Hanover, and only a short drive away from Gettysburg and York. Harrisburg and Westminster, MD, are also within quick reach, and a daytrip to Baltimore is a favorite for residents and for team members. Shopping options are plentiful within a few miles, and first-class medical facilities are present in sufficient number to give you all the options you wish nearby. Our campus is vast enough to supply every resident with breathing space and privacy. Our cottages feel and look like regular ranch houses on carefully landscaped streets. The Bridgewater neighborhood could be mistaken for a well-appointed development in a quiet suburb. Our apartment complex, Harmony Ridge, is designed to offer a self-contained lifestyle for Villagers with mobility concerns or who prefer not to drive: from the spa to the bank, or from the salon to the café, Harmony Ridge is a whole universe under one roof. Our people are perhaps what makes us different most of all: We don’t always dress for dinner… but we volunteer to assist and serve each other in larger number than in any other community. This small but significant difference tells you a lot about us.…

"Concordia Of South Hills Review December 12, 2025 Furnishings: Five Stars. Excellent. A nice blend of modern and traditional. The lamps and the pictures are beautiful. The furniture is very nice and well placed. Nice grouping of chairs and tables for socializing. No clutter. Décor is modern and beautiful. Food: Five Stars. Food is excellent. A nice blend of local favorites and classic food. It would be nice to have an afternoon cup of tea or a cookie. Staff: Overworked and tired but friendly and helpful. Understaffed but everyone is nice. A special award should be attributed to Ariel who adds a nice touch to Food service by supplying handmade (by local students) beautiful bibs for the residents. Understaffed, he has done the work of four people when he is alone on duty and he deserves an honorable mention. Excellent promotion material. Cleanliness: Five Stars. My grandfather is there and since he has been there he has needed a below knee amputation and will need another amputation within the month. We tried to send him to the hospital last month and they refused to do anything for his leg. They don't identify problems, intervene when there are problems and cover up their mistakes. All we hear are excuses. We have had care plan meetings which is all air because they never do what they say they will do. Do not send your loved ones here. We have called state on them multiple times." - Brittany…
