The Capstone Battery Park City

From $5,992/mo

455 North End Avenue, New York, NY, 10282
Independent Living

"We lived there for 2 months in 2025. Moved there by mistake. Had a project in NY and we'd just lost our home in a fire. No short term 2/3 bedroom available in NY. Looked up to $25k a month. 2 weeks out this place comes up, 2 bedroom for $15k, including breakfast and dinner, thought it must be a restaurant attached. They asked our age, I thought it was odd, she said you had to be 50 or 55 to live there. Signed a 2 month lease and gave them a credit card. We get there it's a bit like a movie experience, we had no idea it was a retirement place. No one close to 55 or 55, we are in our 50s with our 18 yr old son. Staff, VERY nice, food was ok, place clean enough. Made friends in their 80s and 90s BUT the website pictures of it was nothing like it. On the pictures there are vibrant people, at the place, sick people coughing phlegm through every meal. If I was healthy 70/80 year old I would never live there. There be 10 walkers stacked for dinner. Living there made me feel old, like hospita" - Paul…

"My mother has been living at Carnegie East House for the past three years and we could not be happier. The staff is kind and caring, the facilities are excellent, and there is always something fun going on. My mother has made some great friends here and never feels lonely. I feel a huge sense of relief that my mom is at Carnegie now and not living at home alone anymore. It's up on 96th so it's not the easiest to get to but since she doesn't get out too much anymore, it's not such a big deal." - Aleksandar…
