"If I could give this place a zero I would. I showed up for a scheduled tour and there was no a single staff member to be found. Anyone who walks in has access to any part of the facility - upstairs, downstairs, resident rooms. There was absolutely no one. After 10 minutes I called several numbers and either the mailbox was full or I was transferred to the main corporate number. What if there was an emergency? After 15 minutes of standing around I left. And I don't think it's location specific because my father in law is at a Brookdale facility in FL and we wanted to transfer him to one here to be closer to family and that one isn't great either. So no we won't be moving him to another one here. I'd rather pay the money for a new place than do an internal transfer. "We are on the waiting list for The Pines in Davidson, NC, a CCRC. However, it is expensive and it appears that we are "aging out" there. Richard Fielding took us down to Williams Place and we toured the facility. We liked it and the cost was more suitable. Our concern there is with the long term care aspect, they don't have in house facilities like The Pines. It was easy to make friends and to enjoy myself with lots of activities and entertainment. There is a library, chapel, theater, exercise room, hair salon, game room and den with a pool table and poker table. There is a lovely dining room with good food and a large room for frequent entertainment. We are assisted in going on errands and other activities by a MerryWood bus and van.
