The 4 Best Independent Living in Okatie, South Carolina

"I stopped in to visit an old friend and was pleasantly surprised. May River Landing is a beautiful, bright facility. The residents seemed to be enjoying themselves engaging in a variety of activities with their friends. The staff, that I encountered, were helpful and cheerful and seemed to have a knack for keeping everyone involved. I left with a good feeling about the personal care my friend was receiving and look forward to stopping in, again, the next time I'm traveling through the Bluffton area." - Kathie… Read more

"I wish to share my deeply disappointing experience with Bayshore on Hilton Head Island. My situation involves a series of misrepresentations and false assurances that have led to financial loss and unnecessary stress during a critical time. When I first considered Bayshore for my aging parents, I was in the midst of a health crisis with my mother needing emergency surgery. The sales team, fully aware of my mother's condition, pushed for a commitment. They assured me of a 24-hour opt-out, a policy that gave me the false hope during a health crisis. Trusting them, I signed it and handed over a $16,950 deposit from my mother's savings, believing that I could opt out without issue if my mother's health worsened. My attempts to terminate it were met with evasion and refusal, with the sales manager indicating they were not authorized to honor my request. I urge you to consider this experience as a cautionary tale. The financial and emotional wellbeing of your family could be at stake." - Shelley… Read more

"So disappointed about this place.the patients rooms are filthy and neglected and so as the parientes who live in this place. I visited few times this elderly lady who is starting to lose her memory and it’s so sad to see how neglected she is when the family is not there. The aides come to the room and place the food in tap of her dresser, not even bothering to open the container and offered to her The bathroom floor and toilet is dirty with feces and nobody comes to check on her to find out if she’s dead or alive. I just wonder who in the world is running this horrible neglected place." - Lisa… Read more
