"If you’re looking for a retirement facility that is hotel-like, with upscale common areas, above average food, lots of activities, and you are independent, then Oakmont of Camarillo is for you. If you need assistance, think twice. When we moved dad into the assisted living side of the facility (they also have a memory care wing) in March of 2021 we were assured of getting additional services like assistance with toileting, escorts/reminders to go to meals, etc. We paid the additional fees for these but staffing fell short and he got maybe half of what we requested. The entire management team (both administration and medical) left the facility in Summer and were replaced with interim staff, and then finally permanent replacements recently, but by then you could notice serious gaps in service like caregivers, housekeeping, etc. We moved dad out this week to a memory care facility that could better care for his needs; his dementia had worsened, and we were so disappointed in staffing and lack of communication from administration that we didn’t choose Oakmont’s memory care wing, rather another community entirely. During the last week there we had asked for showering assistance for him, but after waiting 4 days for them to do it, and it never happening, we gave up and just waited until he got to his new community. Our lesson here has been: when looking at facilities, don’t be swayed by aesthetics like fancy furniture, vaulted ceilings and fireplaces; the care is more important and it’s a good thing to see lots of caregiver staff roaming around." - William… Read more

"I have been incredibly impressed by the staff and care my family has received at Oakmont of El Dorado Hills. My father went from not being very mobile to doing laps around the building, thanks to their physical and occupational therapy. The nurses and aid’s are all very friendly, attentive and compassionate. My mother recently moved from Oakmont of Folsom to this location, and I can certainly understand why - both locations offer exceptional care. I highly recommend Oakmont of El Dorado Hills and would not hesitate to encourage my parents or loved ones to move there."… Read more

"After searching for several weeks into facilities for my mother in law with Alzheimer’s, I finally found the Diamond 💎 I had been looking for that checked every one of my desires for her. It’s not a decision that was taken lightly she has been very special to us so we were rather picky finding a place for her. All I can say from start to actual placement it’s been an extreme pleasure dealing with Ronda, Tatiana and Giovanni as well as the rest of the staff. From the start of the process to the actual placement it was seamless. Today was move in day (we’d been dreading), however the rest of the staff was amazing as well. She started playing ball and doing crafts while we set up her room without hesitation.We couldn’t believe it! I am a person that worked in a professional atmosphere for my career, I have very high expectations and I’m big on reviews so I wouldn’t give a great review if it wasn’t warranted. "This place looks great on the outside and inside. They have a large turnover in employees in the few months my family member was there. They let go of their executive director without notifying family members there would be a change. They still have absolutely no leadership there and it shows with how the “ caregivers” behave. Many times I have walked in facility to visit and find caregivers watching tv and not doing rounds. Checked on my family member and found her not cared for in her room. Several times with feces in depends. Or not getting them ready for bed. We have cleaned our family member up with no assistance. The facility smells like urine and feces. I think they are trying to make positive changes but we cannot wait around any more we moved our family member out of the facility. Ask a lot questions about their license and the fact that right now they can’t even take in new residents due to license issue. "I recently visited Pacifica Senior Living in Oxnard and I was impressed with the property and beautiful grounds. The staff seemed very friendly and welcoming (a special shout out to the lovely girls at the front desk), and the activity room was bright, colorful, and full of fun things to do. They have a back patio area with running water fountains that seemed like a very peaceful space for residents to enjoy. "I would give 0 stars if I could. This place is a hell hole for one. They don't have enough food for the residents, so people have to share food!!! Then staff tell them that there isn't enough money to buy more food !! The second one is that they are under staffed they only have one caregiver for all six cottages for the whole night. They give the residents safety pendants, but they don't work, and when they do work, staff ignore them. My grandma was using her pendant, and no one came. i came down there and found a nurse playing on her phone as another woman was screaming in pain. The nurse just sat there and didn't even check on her!!!! Now there are some staff that do their absolute best they can, and I thank them, but half of these nurse's do not care about the residents. Also, the med techs dont even know what each resident takes, and when a resident asks what the medicine is, they just tell them to take it. "Make sure to check with ALL facilities in the area before committing to this one. There are a lot of great opportunities for senior living in Grass Valley but, unfortunately this one falls a little short compared to others. The positives at this location are cleanliness, location and during power outages the generator works very well.
