"This place is horrible! The staff is underpaid, leading to low-quality employees who often spend their time on their phones instead of assisting the residents. The food is disgusting. On New Year's Eve, they served dried-out bratwurst with chips, and some residents couldn’t even keep their meals down. The cranberry juice is watered down, and there’s no housekeeping—nothing is cleaned, and residents' sheets and clothes aren’t washed. Without informing me, they moved my mom to memory care. They don’t even shower the residents or cut their toenails. Activities are scarce—only the occasional bingo because they can’t retain staff due to the poor management of the parent company. I had to contact the parent company multiple times just to get my mom’s medical records, and nobody ever returned my calls. "Hello, not sure exactly what is going on at Boden, but I was there yesterday for 3 hours and no staff had come in to check on my mom. I found out that they currently have 4 staff for that shift and thought that was enough. It appears it is not. I asked director if I should stay considering they were short staffed and she argued with me that they weren't. I think "short staffed" is a trigger work for her. She is a newer director, has made some good changes, but the trend for min staff is not one of them. Also, internet says monthly cost is 5-6 thousand...it is over 10,000 per month. "Memory care area lacks programming in the afternoon and evening. Residents are left to their own after dinner to wander around and basically watch TV. The afternoon programming is also sporadic. There are only two caregivers for 14 residents on each floor. These caregivers are often in the rooms of residents who need extra help toileting, dressing, or transferring, so the other 12 just wander around or watch tv. They also use a lot of agency caregivers who don’t know what they are doing.(unfortunately this is true in most facilities because of staffing problems) The facility is very nice, the food is good, and the staff is friendly and caring when they can be found. This is a good place for people who have memory issues who are passive and just go along. It is also a good place for people who have their faculties but have physical disabilities and need lots of help.
