"I have been in this place for 14 days..for a fracture Femur. Only seen one doctor one time who runs the show of everything here. Each department from Social coordinator to OT and PT to floor staff had no accountability of what one needs or a plan for rehabilitation as requested by myself. Food is not enough and some uneatable. Medication not given in time as prescribed by my surgeon. The state of AZ needs to investigate for improper care of elderly and rehab patience. Federal Medicare agency needs to check charges of services performed and billed. OT and PT tools for rehabilitation are in need of repair which hender one’s ability to receive proper care but still billed as therapy. A lot of meals are not good food. I Have to bring in food from outside to keep my wt as I have lost 15+ lbs. many working on floor, state understaffed and over worked. "This is a large combination rehab, assisted living, and skilled nursing ("nursing home") facility in central Tucson. The main part is very old, but there have been renovations and newer construction. Assisted living rooms are both old/new. The older rooms are large but dingy and include kitchenette which mostly don't work. The newer rooms are smaller but nice and are not close to the older rooms. Both have dining rooms with prepared meals. Small pets are allowed. The rehab hall has double rooms & isolation rooms. The rehab staff and program are fantastic. All employees are professional. The MAIN problem is the large nursing section. The rooms are tiny with THREE residents/room. One tiny TV and a shared toilet between an adjoining room. The halls that you must go through to get to other sections smell like urine. The unfortunate residents MAY get one shower/week. DON'T put your loved one in this skilled nursing section. Choose assisted living carefully. Rehab is great unless you anticipate a transfer to one of the other sections.
