"We moved our mom into this care home from a place in Napa CA, that was more expensive AND (I found out later) was using medical restrains on mom (who was NOT combative) and she had bed sores due to not moving enough! She was barely communicative. In ONE WEEK the bedsore was gone! pictures were taken to prove it! The hospice nurse had warned us that these sometimes NEVER heal up. ONE WEEK and their expert and loving care healed her up. The caregiver considered it his job to not just feed and clean, but also to stimulate her mind. I would show up unannounced and find her doing different activities, coloring, looking at a photo album, reading a book, .... I visited, but not regularly, 2--3 times a week until her passing. She regained her cognitive abilities to comprehend, recognize people, and speak appropriately to show she understood, although it was not a lot of words or long sentences. After placing my mom into the group home, she appeared as very happy and just glowed because of all the attention that she got. Since Eddie has 30 years experience working with the elderly, she could discern how to best care for my mom and was very attentive to her needs. My mom couldn't speak so it was important that there were caregivers who had experience. My mom appeared very thirsty at the last facility but when she was moved to this group home, she always had water next to her. My mom ate really well there because they served her good food. And Your Home Too had a smaller resident to caregiver ratio then all of the other places that I looked at. The caregivers had a lot of years of experience and had worked for Edie for a long time. "My brother was sent here after a couple days in the hospital. He was there 9 days , finally on day 7 they assisted him with showering! We requested 2 X-rays, after 2 Days I inquired y it still was not done, they forgot to put the request in the computer. It took them 3 days before they finally gave him “breathing” treatments because he has emphysema! The doctor said he would put it in for 4 to 6 times a day, it was put in as needed instead. Meaning, he had to request every treatment instead of them automatically coming in 4 to 6 times a day to give it to him on a regular schedule. It took the pharmacy on site to deliver his “meds”. The food is almost uneditable. The majority of nurses are kind and caring, but they are short staffed so it takes forever to get anything done.
