"I stayed at Bayberry for two weeks of rehab following a two-week hospitalization at NY Presbyterian. While I want to sincerely thank the excellent PT, OT staff, and the Activity Director—all of whom were compassionate, professional, and highly competent—my experience with the nursing care and administration left me deeply concerned. While some nurses and aides were attentive, others showed a disturbing lack of empathy, especially toward vulnerable residents. One elderly woman would cry out for help repeatedly at night. She was often ignored for hours, even when she managed to crawl into the hallway from her bed (which had been placed on the floor for fall prevention). I personally witnessed night staff literally walk around her, rather than assist.
