Hood River Post Acute
"A friend was recently admitted to Hood River Post-Acute (formerly HR Care Center) after recommendation of a Gorge hospital after breaking a limb. There were many boxes of supplies stacked on both sides of the front door on the porch which was odd, but maybe it had just been delivered. Once we were inside, she was shown to a room and a series of staff did the intake process. The noise level was Very high. Each resident has a tv and with two per room and doors open, it was loud. Unsure how that level of noise helps anyone heal. The staff treated residents well though they seemed very busy, rushed to meet all of the needs. The area around the nursing station in the middle of the hallway was crowded with people in wheelchairs and walkers, making it difficult to navigate from the room to the dining room. My friend's two top priorities are to be kind to people and to feel safe. With the noise level, open doors, and no staff to get a complete picture of what to expect, she chose to leave." - Paula…
