"Grand Living Sarasota (GL) is a senior residence in east Sarasota County with attractive first-floor public spaces and poorly designed, cheaply constructed resident apartments. Based on my more than 2.5 years of living at GL, I would not recommend this facility. I have four main reasons for my negative review: 1) I feel my health was jeopardized at GL. 2) Food at GL is mediocre, which should not be, since 3) GL’s rent fees are higher than most other leased senior residences in the Sarasota area. 4) My standard of living at GL was diminished. Living there felt like a “step down.” because so many of the amenities I enjoyed most of my life just don’t exist at GL. Was there positive side? Yes, of course. Fitness, Activities and Wellness (Medical) departments were good, but I don't have space here for details. My advise to you? Keep looking. "This is not a good assisted living facility. It is substandard in every way! It is very often dirty with feces on the floor as well as urine. A full 25% of the people here as clients may as well be inmates because they are crazy and some of them are violent and belong in another facility. "I have been living here over 4 years. The place has gone down tremendously in those 4 years. It is now.a dumping grounds for the worse people in Bradenton. I am now getting ready to move. Also the new owner does nothing to fix it up. He just collects our rent and pockets it. Heard he has many lawsuits. Can’t get it touch as his phone number is disconnected. He lives in New York. "I wrote a previous review and I would like to take it back as the facility has gone downhill very fast. It is no longer the quality that it once was and that I wrote about. Staff is vulgar and rude, and they sleep in common areas during the night when supposedly on duty. The rooms/ carpets are not cleaned and the halls smell of urine.
