"Our family member is living at the Gardens, the Memory Care unit of the Watermark at the Pearl. Our experience has been very mixed. Pros: New building, great location, beautiful restaurant and valet parking. Cons: Opened in 2024 and this unit has already been through three memory care directors, showing a real fracture in leadership. Communication between leadership, staff and the families is poor at every level. There is a lack of transparency regarding the care of your loved one and whether the service plans are being followed by staff. Many of the direct care staff go above and beyond to care for residents but are motivated intrinsically, not lead by leadership. Food is mediocre, little engagement activity offered, housekeeping and laundry are disorganized. High staff turnover and not staffed for resident needs. Bored residents cause problematic behaviors.
