"Overall the facility is relatively new and bright. Especially when compared to other facilities that I have visited. Staff is generally friendly and helpful. Activities are ok but there is a lot of time spent watching TV too which is probably true in most similar facilities. Rooms are nice and there are larger rooms that are spacious and companion suites as well, though they are obviously more expensive but among the largest I have seen, and I visited many. The bad: Food, not so good and at times inedible. Another reviewer mentioned the call button and I agree completely agree. Several times it took at least 45 minutes for a response and on one other occasion there was no response at all. If there had been a bona fide emergency I’m not sure that the outcome would not have been tragic. If my mother had not made friends there and if not for the presence of one particular staff member who goes way above and beyond I would have probably taken her to another facility." - Peter… Read more

"Review I toured this home the first week of August. My 84-year-old dad is in rehab in Rye, and I wanted to learn more about the Enhanced License and hospice care, as my dad seems to be heading in that direction. Unfortunately the sales representative wasn't very informative. She spent much of the tour talking about the property and beautiful gardens, but I wasn't able to get the information I needed about care and services. Two weeks later, my questions about hospice still haven't been answered. I will say the grounds were very well maintained, and the residents we saw seemed happy. At the end of the tour, we were given a bottle of liquor, possibly champagne. I explained that my husband and I are both in recovery and couldn't accept it, but they insisted anyway. I would suggest offering chocolates or a baked good instead. Overall, my recommendation is to have better-informed tour representatives who can answer families' important questions." - Maria… Read more

"Some personnel are kind and skilled but there is a lot of turn over and only a skeleton staff at night. Food is problematic- dishes are given gourmet names but not prepared well. Food is undercooked or overcooked and often unhealthy for elderly people with conditions like heart disease, diabetes or cancer. There is a sole healthy option of chicken but that’s it. Many meal items are from a can, processed and unhealthy. They push ice cream and cake. They sometimes ration popular dishes or run out. As a result meals are bread and butter back in the room. Another issue is the facility itself. It’s beautifully decorated but not with seniors in mind. Abstract repetitive art-confuses residents.Seats are too low or deep and there isn’t a space other than the cold, crowded lobby for monthly music nights. Fire dept calls & water shut offs.
