Assisted Living, Memory Care, Independent Living

"I care for and cook for an elderly woman who resides at Brookdale in Stanwood Washington. Although the facility is clean and pretty on the outside, the trouble on the inside is invisible. Food quality and menus are not conformed to the individual. My friend and client is 96 years old and has very specific needs, and guidelines that have been ordered by her doctors. I am checking with her every day to make sure she has food that she can eat. This isn't a new problem, as this person has been living in Brookdale for 2 years. Her family and I have talked to staff but the problem persists for some residents." - D…

Where the Heart is by Cogir

From $5,000/mo

410 South Norris Street, Burlington, WA, 98233
Assisted Living, Memory Care

"Our family member entered in assisted living and graduated to memory care over a period of a year and a half. During that time, the facility changed directors (and other key staff) twice, and the quality of care deteriorated dramatically. There was constant turnover of caregivers, many of whom were inadequately trained. As time went on, there were shortages of caregivers. Activities were limited as the one individual responsible kept being diverted to caregiving. Transportation services were not provided for months. The quality of foods changed as well, and we found it virtually inedible. When we raised these issues with (new) mangement, there was no response, just indifference. We cannot recommend, look elsewhere." - Mari…
