Recently CDSS posted 2/2026 LaMarea hired an employee and allowed them to work with the senior residents and LaMarea ignored the fact that the new hire did not have a criminal background check clearance and allowed them to assist the seniors. "For Memory Care: While the building is beautiful and the food is good, there are frequent times when the resident has to wait inordinate amounts of time for diaper change, feeding or transfer to or from a wheelchair. The care givers are good, but way overworked. Excuses are plentiful from management about "in process" of hiring more care givers. Seems like there is no good planning for expected staff absences. "The staff at Westmont Carmel Valley are very attentive, however, the food is a very poor quality. The meat dishes are very tough, and although they provide fresh produce with each meal, it is so undercooked as to be not cooked at all. For example, carrots and beans and broccoli are practically raw when served with your cooked meal. You need a steak knife to cut the carrots so you can eat them. Additionally, no matter what you order for your meal what they bring you is never what you ordered. Then if you send it back to the kitchen to get your actual order, it will be another 30 minutes at least before your correct order comes out again." - K… Read more
