"Westmont of la Mesa is truly a resort like community. My parents moved in here even though they were very independent because of all the activities and social programs. The biggest plus was the indoor pool that my mother uses everyday. They are in the independent side of the community but it also offer more care for the future. The staff is also a plus." - Blanch… Read more

"Bad experience- look elsewhere this is a poorly run business. It’s all about the money not about the safety of the seniors. Recently CDSS posted 2/2026 LaMarea hired an employee and allowed them to work with the senior residents and LaMarea ignored the fact that the new hire did not have a criminal background check clearance and allowed them to assist the seniors. Shame on you LaMarea to put our seniors in danger." - Johanne… Read more

"For Memory Care: While the building is beautiful and the food is good, there are frequent times when the resident has to wait inordinate amounts of time for diaper change, feeding or transfer to or from a wheelchair. The care givers are good, but way overworked. Excuses are plentiful from management about "in process" of hiring more care givers. Seems like there is no good planning for expected staff absences. Given how expensive this place is, the caregivers should be best paid and plentiful. Be careful about the smooth talk and hidden rules." - Ann… Read more

"Belmont Village is a beautiful community. Whenever i come to visit my mother It always feels more like a resort than a facility. It is very clean and well maintained. There are so many activities some even run by the residents. They also have a lot of outdoor excursions that my mother enjoys since the community is surrounded by such natural beauty. I recommend this community for anyone looking to be socially active and love outdoors." - Charlotte… Read more

"The staff at Westmont Carmel Valley are very attentive, however, the food is a very poor quality. The meat dishes are very tough, and although they provide fresh produce with each meal, it is so undercooked as to be not cooked at all. For example, carrots and beans and broccoli are practically raw when served with your cooked meal. You need a steak knife to cut the carrots so you can eat them. Additionally, no matter what you order for your meal what they bring you is never what you ordered. Then if you send it back to the kitchen to get your actual order, it will be another 30 minutes at least before your correct order comes out again." - K… Read more

I have been very fortunate to tour several places around the greater La Jolla area, but the experience I had at Casa De Manana the other day was special.
