"Toured recently with my mother and we both were very impressed. We were greeted by a friendly Valet staff member and escorted into the spacious lobby with beautiful decor and a large waterfall. The sales team member was informative and inspiring, as we toured several apartment styles and a multitude of floors with various amenities! Mom loved the rooftop pool and gym! I loved the 18th floor sky lounge. Several groups of residents were assembled there interacting with each other in card games, music, and a book club. Very impressive. The icing on the cake for mom was the lovely garden area and dog park. Pets are welcomed and she was thrilled to know she can bring her poodle. I can share that the pricing for the 1 bedroom apartment we saw was comparable to her home but with so much more included! "Corso is a beautiful facility but they operate like a real estate group with no timely communication out to residents or caregivers and families about urgent or emergency situations. The wellness team is very competent and capable but grossly understaffed and underequipped to deliver medications on time, keep updated records of medical history and preferences, and deliver care plans within a reasonable timeframe. The elevators in the facility breakdown regularly — many occasions my loved one was unable to get to bed after taking their evening medications including sleep meds because they couldn’t climb the stairs (walker/wheelchair). Sadly, it’s as though no one coordinates with anyone which is the last thing you want when placing a loved one who needs additional support under another’s care. Brought all concerns up with the directors and no resolution. Again, beautiful as a senior living community but would NOT recommend for ALF. "My mother has been a resident at Arbor Terrace of Decatur for over 3 years now. She has been doing really well at the community. The staff have been very responsive and the community is very active which helps a lot with my mothers well being. She is a very social person and previously did not live a bigger community where people tended to stay in their rooms. It all begins with the staff at the community, they have been around for a while and you can tell the difference when you visit the community. "The Oaks at Tucker looks good, but it is consistently short on staff, and they do not follow their own safety protocols. Twice in the 1 1/2year my month lived there she went an entire month without receiving her medication and both times ended up having to go to the emergency room. They never seemed to have an activity director, so there were few if any activities. In the time my mother lived there my sister had to help my mother shower, talk to staff about basic cleaning like emptying the trash, and was there often to make sure my mother got what she needed. The facility looks good from the outside the rooms are nice size, they just don't seem to have the ability to hire and retain enough staff.
