"Merrill Gardens is lovely unless one actually needs the assisted living that they advertise. We had hoped that our parent would be able to end their days there, but Merrill Gardens is unwilling to provide the care they advertise and that is listed on the contract we signed. Furthermore, their head nurse is really unfit for dealing with the slightest problem and should really find employment where she doesn't have to deal with people. Many of the staff are lovely, and the facility is beautiful. Just don't plan on ever transitioning from independent living to assistant living. They cannot provide it as advertised." - S.… Read more

"We moved my father-in-law here last month. This facility is way better than his last place (Gencare) The care and attention that he gets here is amazing . Dustin is on it if you need any help with anything. The staff is friendly and they all have great attitudes. The rooms are large and don’t look like a hospital rooms - they are like an apartment. The accommodation and care are amazing, responsiveness is great, someone is usually there within a couple minutes. The food is better - that was a complaint he had at the last place. The grounds are beautiful and they a BBQ area. "Fantastic medical and care staff on floors in living area. Very thoughtful, kind and personal care. 5 heart rating The dining facility is terrible. Really bad service. 1 heart or zero rating. Reason: Visiting families have to use a separate room. The staff forgets over 50% of the time that they need to take orders and only realize when it's near closing time that someone is in the room and all of the popular food items are gone. The food itself is fine, but the service is bad except for just a few outstandingly good, dedicated employees. The General Manager should be replaced. The dining service needs a complete overhaul to focus on prompt, polite & courteous customer service. Activities: 2 heart rating The morning & afternoon exercises are a bit too easy.
