"Summit Place has a limited nbr of caregivers, meals are low quality, infrequent bathing, bed baths in lieu of showers. Management does not respond to residents concerns or to Family of Residents concerns adequately. Staff is limited in certifications, a few CNA's but primarily caregivers are Patient Care Assistnts who do not understand medical terminology. My parent was a Do Not Rescitate but Staff understood that to mean, Do Not Treat or alert medical or Family that parent is in distress. Parent died as a result of inattention to care needed. There is NO RN on staff and a LPN shares her time between two different facilitates separated by one hour travel time apart. Nightime staff is limited to 2 individuals to cover entire facility. Resident Family Members met in numbers exceeding room capacity at nearby Church to meet with Regional Directors to address inadeqaucies at the Facility. "My mom was in this facility and is now moving out due to the complete lack of care provided, especially considering the cost. For over $6,000 a month, you would expect a certain standard of service they claim to provide—but that could not be further from reality. My mom entered with dementia that was still mild; she was independent and did not need memory care. We paid for a room, cleaning service, and medication dispensing. Yet her room was consistently dark, dingy, and NEVER cleaned. The entire facility often smelled of urine. After repeated complaints about the filth, nothing changed—I eventually bought my own supplies and cleaned her room and bathroom myself. Even worse, as my mom’s dementia progressed, the staff NEVER communicated with us about her episodes or what was happening. How can a facility responsible for people’s loved ones fail to notify families about their care and wellbeing? "Don’t send your love one here there’s no staffing no med techs any staff is passing out medication that’s not certified most of the staff are on drugs . Residents are not getting showers or ADL’s there’s no activity for the residents. There’s no facility nurse the food is horrible and they don’t get healthy snacks if snacks at all . The facility has roaches in resident rooms and beds . Third shift leaves in the middle of there shift and there’s not a med tech most of the nights most of the residents have falls on third shift because of staff is on drugs or sleeping on duty. They hire anyone off the streets.The residents clothes are being stolen and they don’t wash the residents clothes with proper sanitation detergent . "My husband and I had Thanksgiving meal with mom in 2022. The food was really good. The turkey was the best Ive ever had. The staff was extremly helpful to everyone on this Thankgiving day. All of the residents seemed happy really upbeat. The staff was great with everyone. My mother has adjusted extremely well here after my fathers passing on March. She has made friends seems to be happy here. She has had some sickness here. But we expected things like this. The staff did a wonderful job during covid with meals. Closed the dinning room until all clear was given again. Covid was hard on everyone. They are great about following guidelines on these issues. When we signed mom up they provided 3 meals a day. Now only 2 meals a day without any cost adjustment. I wish they would go back to 3 meals a day. Because it makes it hard on families trying to bring in food. Our mother is very happy here.
