I will say many of the problems have been corrected by the new management. Meals are constantly improving. Next the staff, I love most of them. They are very caring with different personalities. We are blessed to have a great staff. Of course the residents have different needs. My regular morning caregiver, Ann, always makes up my bed. Now for the main reason I love Brickmont, Evette O., our activities director. She is fabulous! Not only does she keep us busy but she becomes our friend. I have never seen her treat anyone except with respect. The activities she schedules are diverse and helpful. We laugh and say "don't you go anywhere because we would have to move with you!" "DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE FOR YOUR LOVED ONE! The staff at Magnolia are incredible at touring and the sales pitch. But let me tell you, they will not even do the bare minimum that is part of the rental contract because they are always “under-staffed”. The weekly cleanings, laundry and sheet changes do not happen regularly if at all! If and when they do clean, it’s mediocre at best. The food is inedible. Several occasions they lost our family members medications and spent days trying to locate them while she was left without her diabetic monitors among other crucial medications. And you will be charged a ridiculous amount for a “care plan” and within weeks to months they will do another assessment without any communication and double the monthly care plan, this is how they make their money. Charging lower rent and ridiculous amounts for “care plans” that are bogus and unwarranted. "This facility has been such a disappointment. We’ve gone by to see them at the facility and found them crying out and yet no one had come by to look in on them. We have been there for hours with no staff even checking on them. It’s just sad. I’ve heard many times first hand- Several of the staff nursing/medical/cma etc are not nice to their clients and get aggravated if you ask any questions. The “list” of inclusions are rarely done. I’m sure some are trying hard but not sure I’ve met many of them. We wanted to try and see if it would get better with all the changes in staff but We had to go a different direction. "My mom stayed here for a year and a half and it was nothing but problems. Cold food, overnight pendant response times can be 2-3 hours, not getting everyone out of their rooms during a fire drill, no sanitizer in the entire facility for four days, elevator(s) broken for four months straight, the bus and car didn't work for weeks at a time, lost laundry, etc. The dining room is a complete disaster. They run out of entrees within 5 minutes of the dining room opening, and the food is way too salty. The residents have spoken up about this numerous times. However, nothing changes. They served hamburgers and didn't have ketchup on more than one occassion. Hamburgers served on bread, not buns. And, there's a Kroger/Publix within walking distance. A grilled chease sandwich served without the cheese. They run out of coffee cups, lids, creamer, iced tea, bread, desserts, you name it. And, it's constant.
